    Hp DV8000 LED back light mods??? help!

    Ok I just got a Dv8000 and its got a busted back light bulb and i was wondering how many leds would be need to light the screen up nice and bright? and where i could find how to do it. Allso is the inveter ok to power say 3 to 4 leds out of a led flash light? well thanks.. Im asking this because I cant afford a new back light.. and ive got plenty of LEDS sitting around.. thanks for ny help!

    I'm not sure about anything except that using the current backlight inverter is EXTREMELY dumb because an inverter increases the voltage, and LEDs are very low voltage, so they need resisters on them

    ok i found thst out and allso that the inverters put out ac power and not DC power..so how can I find out what the DC power coming straight from the board is? and is it enough to run some leds to light up my laptops screen?

    Sorry I can't offer any advice, but I found this thread through a google search. I plan on looking into doing it myself and if I get anywhere I'll post back here.
