I own a Hp dv5t and recently the speakers on the laptop stoped working. the only way i can get sound is by plugging in headphones. It seems the computer is stuck in headphone mode. I've been searching for an answer the past few days but couldn't find a solution. Has anyone else ever had this problem and if so how can it be fixed?
Thank you,
nick

This might sound simple, but did you try right clicking in the sound icon in windows taskbar, going to playback devices and setting the laptop speakers as default?

Thanks for the suggestion but on my computer Speakers and Dual Headphones are listed as the same device, which is set as the default

this happens to me when i instal audio drivers with headphones plugged in. try uninstalling ur audio drivers then restart without headphones, and then install new drivers
