Hi guys im new here, i search of some help! i have a DV6000 13 months old! just out of warranty!i look after it and keep it in immaculate condition, i use it to watch videos, photoshop editing etc! so overtime i have gotton used my laptops behaviour,

    its a DV6000
AMD Turion 2Ghz dual core CPU
    2 gig ram
    250GB HDD,
    windows Vista

when ever i do a cpu intensive task my Fan kicks in almost instantly, however the last couple of weeks iv noticed when im editing the fan isnt that responsive anymore! it hardly kicks in turbo mode and its on High Power, as a result things take longer to process, im just monitoring my CPU temp and it sits around 60 degrees.

im really worried that why my cpu fan doesnt spin fast enough, it just sits on low speed, however during start up it does go really loud then quietens down again, iv ordered an air can to blow out any dust, any ideas guys is it a software problem or hardware???

did you update your bios or anything that may have caused the different fan behaviour? Make sure your bios is up to date. Fan speed is linked to cpu temp, not load, so if the cpu isn't overheating (60 degrees isn't bad) then it's doing its job. When my cpu is under load for an extended period at 100% on both cores the temp gets up to about 59 degrees. The fan spools up somewhat near that temperature but not much compared to when the gpu is getting hot.
