With the search function not up for me, guess I will make a new post.
My notebook is a DV9548US. On Crucials and HPs website, they both claim the laptop maxes at 2GB of memory. Obviously that is wrong I am running 4GB, but I saw in another thread of that GM965 chipset can actually handle 8GB of memory.
My questions are, why are HP and Crucial both showing wrong information, and how do I find out if my notebook uses that chipset if I would ever want 8GB of memory in the future? I know I won't ever get 8GB, but just curious if its possible.

Sure, the hardware might but the BIOS might not yet support 8gigs. Also, in some cases it might actually support the 8gigs and HP might not have released this information to the public because its still not mainstream yet.

I got them a lot cheaper than that though. The computer doesn't take advantage of the 800 MHz though, so any 2GB PC2-5300 will work. -
thank you, i going to buy thhat one.
