Just bought new HP at Office Max, still in box, unopened, so I can reurn if I need to. Is it a good unit? It says I need to purchase seperate 64-bit OS, what does that mean?

What do you plan to use it for? It should be fine for basic use(email, web, documents etc).

As far as the second question. It just means that the system is capable of running 64bit software but in order to do so you will need to install 64bit version of Windows which they dont sell with the system. You would have to acquire it on your own. By default, the unit should have shipped with 32 bit version of Vista Home Basic.
