For some time now Ive been using a HP Compaq 8510p, and Im not so happy about the HDD performance. Since Im not in the situation to test an another HDD Im putting my HDD results, and also putting the Bios configuration (in which I would need some advice to make my HP run faster).
Maybe its vista, maybe is bios, maybe its just me.
oh. btw. these options are on on the HDD: "Enable write catching on the disk" & "Enable advanced performance", theme classic, indexing is off, there is no paging file.

Why don't you upgrade the HDD ?

The Seagate 5400.3 uses 80GB platters, and is quite slow as compared to the new 160GB and 250GB per platter HDDs.

The Seagate 7200.3 or 5400.6 will be a nice upgrade, if you want to upgrade. ;)

Don't rely on WEI as a benchmark or I shall find you and slap you.
