Changing the partitions might have screwed up the boot sequence. If you are still able to boot into Windows & still have the software to create the restore DVD's on the system, then try this suggestion listed in the link below to remove the one time restore DVD burning limitation...

If this works then you can create new restore discs and use them to get the PC back to factory state.

You can even create the recovery CD's from a non-windows environment
... if XP won't boot for example and you're really really desperate and have a ton of blank CD's laying around. You can make a recovery DVD after you have fixed everything with the restore CD's. Nobody will ever have to know. :)

Creating a Recovery CD Set from a command prompt

Use the following steps to create a Recovery CD set without having Windows open:

NOTE: You can only create recovery CDs using this method.
It is not possible to create recovery DVDs in a non-Windows environment.

Turn on the PC and repeatedly press the F10 key when the first screen appears.

The first recovery screen appears. Do one of the following procedures depending on what is shown:

Click Start, PC Recovery, Next, OK, and then Advanced Options.
    Click Advanced Options.
Press and hold the Alt key, press the D key, and then release the keys.
A window with a command prompt (C:\minint\system32) opens.
If the PC does not have a memory card reader, type the following: d:
If the PC has a memory card reader, type the following: h:
Press Enter and type the following at the D:\> or H:\> prompt: cd windows
Press Enter and type the following at the D:\Windows> or H:\Windows> prompt: cd creator
Press Enter and type the following command exactly as it is shown here (including quotation marks and space): "CD Creator.exe"
Press Enter and click Start Creation or NEXT (depending on your PC).

If you do not see either of these selections, press the Enter key on the keyboard to start the Recovery CD Creator program.
Once the recovery CD creator program begins, follow the directions to create the Recovery CD set.

Order the recovery DVD if you can.
They are very cheap, like $16 in the US.
