    I just need to reinstall xp for my sister
    But
    A. the New dvd drive is to slow and won't read
    B. it just doesn't check for cd
    C. idk

    Any won't boot CD

    Make sure you set "CD drive" as the first booting priority in the BIOS or else it wont even try read the disk on startup

    That the first think i do when os installs.
    But nothing.
    The little _ for about one second that goes in a setup that went bad.

    i presume that the notebook has a new drive as what you wrote. is this drive can be detected by the notebook? something like the model shows up in your bios?

    Nothing shows in the bios note even the hard drive just it's size.
    Yes I put a new drive in there because I thought that was the issue.
    But now I have no clue where to go.

    try to put the bios to it's default or optimal setting and see whether it can detect your other peripherals. you could try to manually reset your bios by taking out the battery then press the power button for 10secs or more then put back the battery then bootup. or another thing is to take out your notebook mobo battery and leave it for about a few minutes to reset the bios to it's original condition. or it could be the mobo battery itself.
