Hello all. I was wondering if any Hp users with a dv6000 have had any problems starting the laptop. For example on my notebook, I pressed the power key without the laptop being plugged in, running only on battery power. I tried pushing the button twice, firmly and no start up. I could hear the computer trying to fire up but it did not. On the third try it began to run. I also tried the laptop on ac power and there were no startup problems. So what do you think? A problem with the battery or something else? Please, I am open to comments. Thank you.

Try calibrating your battery and try it again. Also check when your computer is set to automatically go off per level of battery charge. Most, I believe, have it set at 10-20% battery power left when automatic shut off is activated. Sounds like a battery problem.

    Hi,

I observed the same beahvier though I didn't need to press but firmly but yes my laptop wouldn't start in first go sometimes. I just ignored it thinking my laptop's mechanical key got loose.

Hello and thank you for your comments, both constructive and somewhat assuring. I have the dv6258se the special edition specifically and the symptoms have dissipated. As it appears, the laptop no longer has any problems with start up so I think that the problem lies within low battery charge as the notebook only had about 40% left when I managed to turn it on. As for the user midkhan what exactly happened to your moto as I find that very interesting. Thank you very much to those who commented. As always give me some feedback. Thank You.

40% of battery is not low! If you did not change the power setup, it should hibernate (shutting down saving whatever you were working on) at 3%. I don't think it has to do with your charge level.
