That processor is more than capable of handling video editing. You did buy the dedicated memory video option, right? I can see where the shared memory only version might have video bandwidth issues. What software are you trying to run?

Im wit brianstretch, AMD64 is overly capable for video editing. The main bottleneck(s) would be RAM, CPU speed, and HD (Both speed and size).....

XP 64 you say? Well, unless you have all 64-bit drivers, that might be a HUGE problem affecting your performance.

This notebook is more than capable of any and all types of video encoding you can throw at it. I do a lot of video capturing, editing, decoding, and encoding. I convert video to every imaginable format (vcd, svcd, dvd, avi, asf, mov, all forms of mpg, mp4 - Sony PSP, etc.). And I'm doing all this with half the memory you have. I can almost hear my notebook talk back to me when I'm having it do video encoding as if to say, "Is that all you got? You puny human!" :)

So either your zv6000 is broken or you don't know what you're doing. Or both. :hp:

I'm trying to capture videos from my camcorder then by using Pinacle studios 9.4 , I like to add some stuff and burn it to a DVD.
The problem is when I add transisions and other effects to the clips I get a lot of lagging and then the program stops responding.

Is the RAM easily accessible on the zv6000 or do you have to take the whole thing apart to get at it?

One ram slot is accessable on the bottom of the laptop via one screw, but the other is under the keyboard and requres the removal of 4 screws, tehn the keyboard cover, then 4 more screws and the keyboard.

You said you just bought it right? You could try reformatting it or removing some of the apps that came preinstalled. I know when I got my zv6000 is was packed with programs which ran at startup and bogged the machine.
