I don't use the HP quickplay buttons at the top of my laptop at all and I was wondering if they could be configured to perform other options, such as using the fast forward button to fast forward to the next song in winamp or programming the stop and start buttons to stop and start songs in winamp. Is this at possible?

Just go into Winamp's global hotkeys menu and you can program them there.
