    Ok Guys,

My problem is I have a HP Dv6000 , no thats not my actual problem, ;) . About 3 days ago, the internet would not connect, i messed with some thing set it down came back boom, the internet was back. Now, for the past 2 days, i am not able to connect to anything, no networks show up, i have an internal wireless card, that doens't seem to be working, Hp Wireless assistant won't open. Ive tried to set up networks, ive gone to all the help things .. nothing.

I did find the BIOS update, but f.3d i can't connect to the internet to get it. Ive restarted, taken the battery out, everything. Everytime i diagnose it says local area connection not available try plugging in. Any time previous when i started it, it would auto connect to wireless. I can't update anything because i can't access the internet, and could really use some help . Ive done virus scans, on ad-ware and norton , nothing. the 2 computesr just stay blank with a red x, and the wireless button on the front remains orange, no matter how many times i move it back an forth. Any previous time it would instantly pop open the internet.

If you have any suggestions please post.

Actually your problem may as well be the Dv6000 :p

If you have an nVidia graphics card, you may be a victim of the notorious failing motherboard and whatnot. HP extended warranties for two years on their laptops with nvidia graphics cards.

You should give HP a call and see if you're eligible for free motherboard replacement.

I Contacted them and this was their response:

Helen : Yes, you are correct that your notebook warranty has expired and I have check for the available options and your notebook model falls under this one time service enhancement program and so mail in repair will be free of cost.
Helen : Please provide me your address details and phone number.
    ---- deleted ----
Helen : Once the notebook is sent to HP it will be diagnosed and then repaired by HP technicians and incase if it is not repairable then HP will contact you and intimate the same and provide you with available options.
Helen : Let me explain you about the mail in repair process in detail.

Should i document what i have now, incase they case they claim its something other?
