    Currently custimizing my 6500t series and I noticed there are a couple of battery options. I'm willing to spend the extra buck for the extended battery life, my question is though;

    I see 4 options

    6 cell - basic
    high capacity 6 cell - guessing an upgrade from the basic
    12 cell - even better than the two aforementioned
    one 6 cell and one 12 cell - ????

    does that last option put both of them IN the computer, or does one come seperate so you can switch? I'm sure the 12 cell sticks out a bit so I'm wondernig.

    they come separate and you can switch. i would recommend getting the high capacity 6 cell and then buying the 12 cell from costco.com. Without even being a member of Costco, I think my price for the 12 cell battery was around $95.

    No, only one battery fits in at a time. I believe the high capacity 6-cell is the same size as the basic 6-cell but it has high amp-hour rating.

    Yes, I have the 12-cell and it does stick out about half an inch from the bottom of the laptop. On a desk it props up the back which makes it a bit more comfortable when typing, but that's minimal. It also adds extra weight which you may not want if you carry the computer around a lot. And because it sticks out, you may not like the way it sits on your lap.

    The 12-cell lasts about another 1.5-2.0 hours or so depending on usage.

    I would prefer the high capacity 6-cell over the 12-cell due to the fact that I usually have AC power available and don't need lots of battery life. But that's just me.
