I bought my hp dv2000z around 2 weeks ago, it works fine except for one thing. At night when I am done with the laptop, I turn it off, and unplug the power. The next morning the battery drains to around 93%. Is this normal or do I have a problem with the battery? Thanks!!

That's normal. Any PC made in the past several years is never completely off unless both wall power and the battery are removed. That's why it's critically important to both turn off and unplug your desktop PCs before adding/removing hardware.

Thanks, this is my first notebook and I wasn’t sure if it was normal.

I would advise you NOT to take off the battery... whenever you take it off and unplug the AC adapter, the laptop still uses battery.. and it will be the tiny lithium battery that it uses to remember the time, date, and all your BIOS settings. That battery typically lasts for about 10 years..but if you leave your regular (big) battery off for extended amount of time, chances are you will have to open up the laptop in a few years..just to replace that tiny battery.

I think all Brianstretch was saying was that you have to remove the battery if you're doing any hardware work, not that you should remove it every night. :)

Thanks, I never take the battery out, just unplug it at night. Do you think I should just leave it plugged in all the time, someone told me that it was bad for the battery?

I leave my notebook plugged in all the time. How long the battery lasts has more to do with how well it was made and how cool it is kept than with anything else. If you get 2 years out of it you did OK.
