I'm really seriously considering going to buy a hp dv5 1040 today
It is the intel p7350 with 4gb ram 320gb hdd and the gf 9600gt
Do any of you have any last minute warning.
About the faq I previously answered the question in this post.

And this hp seems to me this really fits what I want.

By the way I found another Hp dv5 1160. It seems to have exactly the same specs. So whats the difference?

only problom is that i comes with vista 32 ( which can't even use the 4 gb of ram). I later on want more ram ( i guess the hardware allows for 8). How do I go about getting the vista 64 instead??? do I buy a new copy, an upgrade or should I bargin the dealer for it allready when I by the pc?

Ok i havent bought it yet. I was hoping to hear from one of you in this forum. especially I was hoping to get some explanation on the 1160 vs the 1040.
And also very important what do you do if the hardware you want comes with vista 32 an you really want 64

To be honest, its hard for anyone to really know the difference as the model numbers in other countries are different. I will move this into the HP section for better responses.

To get Vista-64, you would need to purchase a copy of Vista-64 & install it. As far as I know, Microsoft does not sell upgrades from Vista-32 to Vista-64. See http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Wi...1554-d5ef-4f2c-8fb9-149bdc5c8a701033.mspx#EKH

To install vista x64 is easy. All you need is a disk containing vista x64. You can use the vista serial from the bottom of your computer because when you buy vista you only buy home premium or ultimate, not x64 or x86. PS downloading an image from bittorrent is grey but since you already own the key, I can't see it being illegal.
