    Hp dv5 Dead pixel

    got my new lappy and had problems with a 3 vertical dead pixel in the right most part of the screen. any idea if they can replace my lappy bec of that? i bought my lappy in an electronics store here in my location..

    Never been to Bahrain. Perhaps you should consult your local electronics store's return policy.

    While stores policies will differ, most reputable places give the consumer at least 14 days if not 30 here in the United States for issues like this and will waive a restocking fee so long as you have proof to show that the unit is in some way defective. As ZaZ said, you should contact the store and ask them what their policies are and go from there.

    If they won't take it back, the next step would be to contact HP and see what they can offer you. I have see instances where a person bought an HP product from a HP endorsed reseller and were able to exchange it directly with HP as long as it was within the first 30 days or something to that affect when the reseller refused to help the buyer out. Just know that most manufacturers don't consider anything less than 5 dead pixels for repair/replacement because of their support and company policies. Again, all you can do is ask and make some decisions from there.
