    Hp dv6-1362 green vertical line all the way up the screen

    Problem was intermittent and if I moved the screen a little up or down it would go away. Now it looks like its here to stay.

    Heres a picture:

    I tried connecting it to my LCD and the green line did not show up on the external display, if that makes any difference.

    Just means it not the video card, but the lcd screen or more likely the cable.

    For anyone who has got warranty service at HP. Is it worth contacting HP online, can they actually resolve the problem? I hate holding on the phone forever but if thats the best way to deal with the problem I will.

    I tried the online chat tech support feature and it was much quicker and better than the phone support. They're sending me a box to send my dv6 back. Broken LCD according to the tech.

    Yes, a solid line usually indicates a leak in the crystal. When the cable is broken the picture loses sync, shakes, or loses more than one line (you get blank or colored lines in an ordered fashion).
