    Hp dv6000 screen problem

    I bought an HP Pavilion dv6000 with a problem on the screen, I have less than half the screen at the bottom with a dark line where sometimes changes color or simply it removes and looks normal I have no problem with the rest of screen, if anyone know the problem please help me, Thanx. :)

    it more than likely needs the screen replaced. a quick test to ensure that it is not the video card it to hook the laptop up to a external moniter and make sure the picture is ok there and if so it probably needs a new screen.

    It could also be LCD cable that moves inside the screen and that causes the problem. Very hard to say for sure without pictures/seeing it live.

    Cable is much cheaper than screen itself and usually if you buy new screen the cable is not included. In case you need to pay repair yourself, it might not hurt ordering just the cable first to see if that was the problem.

    I agree check the cable first. Had a similar problem and it was the cable. YMMV
