Ok so I have a Dv7 not a dv7t so I did not know to make my own thread or post in the other thread.

ANYWAYS - My girlfriends dad got a computer very similar to mine and it looks identical besides the color. I know it is not the exact same because the index score is lower.

When he changes the volume on the touch part from the computer it shows a meter in the center of the that moves while he slides his finger across the volume.

I thought cool I can find this on mine. I can not figure it out but then again I am not too computer savy with this sort of thing.

Any help? I know it is something dumb but it would be convenient for me to know

    Thanks!

Okay, I will do my best to give you some help.

I am guessing that you meant to say that the meter appears on the screen. If this is incorrect, let us know.

If you alter the volume and your computer doesn't show the meter, you might be screwed. My un-educated guess would be that the meter is something that comes only on newer models. I have the dv7t, and it does show the meter. I don't know if you could download some sort of program to show it, but my guess would be that you can't.

I hope this begins to answer your question. I am not an expert when it comes to computers either, so this is my best shot.

    Eric

O.k I got this computer less than 3 months ago so it is not too old. Thanks for the help. I am not too worried about it as it just seemed like something cool.
    Thanks again

    Not a problem.

And by the way, I didn't mean to imply your computer was "old" or anything like that. I should have said "not the most recent model" or something along those lines. But on second thought, it probably is old by today's standard. Hell, my dv7t which I got Monday is old already in today's tech world :D
