Out of the blue the mute bottom light of my envy doesnt light up anymore, it works fine (it mutes and unmutes without a hitch) but the light doesnt turn on anymore. I did open envy last week to replace my hard disk, is it possible that disconnected a cord or something like that?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I'm having the same issue as well. I've updated all of the software. I'm not sure if the light is not working or if an upgrade killed the mute led. The light doesn't work regardless of the OS (Windows 7, Ubuntu, OSX).

If this functionality is tied to software package I can reinstall to test.

    Thanks

My guess that it is indeed related to an update.

I updated my bios to F.08 then downgraded to F.07. The mute button hasn't worked with either. Can anyone running either of these BIOS updates confirm that they have a working mute button LED?

I'm also going to reinstall a few software packages to see if there are any changes. Perhaps a software downgrade is necessary as well.

    Cheers

SOLVED! I downgraded from IDT audio drivers version 6392 to 6388 which are linked in the Drivers section. Uninstall the IDT drivers, reboot and install SP56717.exe to get the Mute LED working again.

    Cheers!
