Hp hdx 18t good for gaming ?

I am wondering if the hp hdx is good for gaming ?

Here are the specs im getting

the single video card ( only available )

130m

4gb ddr3 memory

quad core processor



Crysis is an afterthought, so just the regular other games . I had a sager with

2gb ddr3 m
2.5 dual core
and 8800 gtx, and ran all the other game almost greatly except far cry 2, which had a bit of frame rate, and crysis . But I could play both at high, far cry 2 without any frame rate, but crysis with a bit .

 

Tell u what, I have the hdx16 with 130m. I play crysis warhead on high settings.

 

I wont suggest the hdx 18t for gaming:

1. Cause of the bad position of the video card. After 30mins/45mins of gaming, the left side of the notebook, just to the left of the touchpad, becomes really hot [also the keys around WASD], its pretty annoying, while gaming, for booth fingers and wrist.

2. The monitor ratio is 16:9 and not 16:10 like most notebooks, this make it good for movies, but not a lot for gamin cause you are forced to use 1920x1080 or go down to 1360x768 [theres no mid resolution between them cause of the monitor ratio].

3. You can play with no problem some games, but i high settings on Crysis on Max resolution is impossible, i got a 9600m gt, but this card shouldn't differ a lot with the 130m, maybe the 130m can take 5-10 fps more, but still, i play a lot of WoW and on Max resolution i can't go to High settings [Max resolution, High settings = 15-20 fps while raiding/party, not enough].

4. Cause of point 3 you would like to play the games in a lower res, but the one under 1920x1080 is 1360x768 [remember point 2]. But not playing in the monitor native resolution is usually wierd, and downscaling from 1920x1080 to 1360x768 isn't the best thing for img quality [you get a blurry img], and there is no possibility to go to a decent 1680x1050 unless the game let you set this resolution in window mode [i think only The Last Renmant allowed me to do so for now].

Is still possible to play games, dont take me wrong, played sims3, last renmant, wow, bioshock, witcher, oblivion etcetc... just dont think you can go all out with settings. The heat is just boring, not like you get burnt, but you will fell it a lot.

[consider that the 8800m gtx is a lot better than booth 9600m gt and 130m]
