Hello,
Can somebody post the wallpaper of the pavilion dv2800 artist edition notebook.
Would be great to have it on my laptop.
Thnx.
-
I would also like this wallpaper. thaks in advance
-
I think HP is seriously running out of design ideas, i find this "artist edition" atrocious.
Ive checked google images with no luck. Have you checked the hp website? -
I was surprised, or rather, shocked that the Asian Odyssey won. I checked out HP's competition site and there were many more way nicer than the Asian Odyssey, but that's just my opinion.
-
Anyone who has this laptop yet? So he/she can post the wallpaper
-
I ordered this laptop and should be coming in at the end of this month. But if anyone wants, heres the the original design from deviant art called "Made In Japan". Hp calls it "Asian Odyssey" though.
-
I detest it. Looks ugly, imo.
-
IMO the designer just slapped as much asian stuff as possible. Id like some of what he had when creating this
-
I actually like it a bit
Is it because I, in fact, am Asian ? Possibly.
But I think it would look MUCH better if the color scheme was red, white & black rather than blue, orange, and dark brown
but I'd much rather opt for the Verve 2700tSE -
Im asian aswell but id still choose dragon or verve anyday..
Its like an explosion of chinese and japanese cultures... haha and i love japan! -
I'm asian too and I think Verve is the best imprint HP has so far.
-
Off-Topic: What Asian are you guys, haha?
I'm Japanese-Filipino. But I'm more Japanese than Filipino seeing as I lived there for a while and speak it conversationally-fluently. -
I'm Vietnamese. Reside in OC CALI
-
[Seriously off topic but important] @ flipfire: You are an Asian?
-
-
Ok, I thought it would be cool , but I think you might be right, most of my co-workers think like you when I showed it to them at my local dealor.
But really as bad as to say atrocious? I know it is personal thing.........but to me it is like really cool , I was almost buying it just for the Paint and realize HP only offers these with T5550 in SE Asia, so I bought a Verve version. -
-
Don't be offended lappyforphotoshop. It is his opinion and he has all the rights to keep his views forward. He has a different background than you and that is probably why he does not like it. I like it. But I don't think it is the best that HP has. For me Verve is still the clear winner.
-
I guess im just sick of HP just changing cosmetic designs instead of creating a new line of pavilion laptops or modifying current models for better reliablility and performance. I currently have my eye on Asus next because HP just isnt keeping up
The asian odyssey would look nice as a desktop wallpaper just not imprinted into the actual laptop. I showed it to my friend who is a graphic designer and he laughed at it.
oh and yes im flipino aka flip-fire or Funny Looking Islander People. I can speak and understand quite abit of spanish, viet, korean and jap. Anyway doesnt matter who i am, im just a bunch of letters and numbers on a screen to you -
As for HP having a dated look... don't know. Have you looked at the dell 1525 which is the competitor to the HP or gateways machines etc..? They have nothing on HP's design yet. Some of the sony TZ ultra portables look very nice but there over 2 or 3 thousand. The dells have nice looking lids and thats about it with crappy speakers.. all of them. As old as HP's design is, its still cutting edge when viewed with the competition. Except for the Sony TZ that is, thats pure sweetness rapped in carbon fiber case and nicer then hell designing. I don't care for Sony, but in the ultra small portables they do know how to make very small devices very well.. they always have. I am thinking the TZ is still built in Japan so the build quality is no doubt top notch. -
Only if they made most laptops out of carbon fibre instead of part metal.. it would weigh like a feather, be stronger and it wont flex.
HP leads in design...
FTW! lmao -
Hey flipfire which model is that in the pics above? Looks cool!
-
Well, three questions>
1) wich one is the verve?? (seriously, i'm driving myself nuts because i can't find it)
2) i have the wallpaper but it is a screenshot from a desktop. It has good resolution. (when you cant find a pic or a image, always go to deviantart.com)
3) which HP laptops are able to customize the colors etc?
Thanx! -

Mine is Verve. lol

I got the first Verve available. Right when it came out, cuz I thought it looked so nice. I regret it, cuz now the specs increased greatly. T_T

I'm actually Asian too (Filipino) living here in Hawaii. But I did not buy this laptop just for being asian. I do like the design and I had to choose between getting the Verve or Artist Edition. 3 of my closest friends and 2 of my relatives have to Verve and I thought If I get the Verve, I'll Just Be Copying Them. I wanted something different, so I decided to get the Artist Edition.
Before I ordered the laptop, I configured the Artist Edition And Compared It With The Verve. Suprisingly with my Education Discount, The Artist Edition Came to Be about $20 cheaper! The only drawback was the the Artist Edition cannot have a Fingerprint reader. If I added The Fingerprint Reader To The Verve, then It would be $45 More than The Artist Edition, So I got The Artist Edition And Bought An External Fingerprint Reader For $30.
Kinda Sucks SE ASIA only offers The T5550. Don't they build HP Laptops in China? So I don't really know why they won't let you get a better processor.
I customized mines with the T9300, 2GB Ram, And 120 Hard Drive. =)
Came out to be $1195.81 tax included. I bought a 250GB hard drive on black Friday including a 2GB ram stick so I can upgrade my laptop when It gets here. I have an old HP dv2000 and it has a lightscribe drive, so I can change the drives if I want lightscribe.
I really like all of the designs HP has, but It would be cool to see it on other laptops. A dv9700se Verve or influx would be cool considering the dv9000 series has not recieved a Special edition yet. Both dv2000 and dv6000 got two special editions, Actually the dv2000 has 3 since circuit city has a dv2742se with the influx design. But ya, hopefully HP will change to actual chassis on the next series, Probably the dv3000, dv7000 and dv10000 -
Well, here it is the screensaver but without the HP logo on it. BUT, its a screenshot, so you will find in the bottom the mini/status bar of the owner in the pic. Dont worry, it doesnt appear in the screen.
If u want, i can cut it.
One question, If I want the look of the verve, but I NEED 256 mb of GPU at least (the verve comes only with 128 mb)...Can I customize a laptop with the imprint and the GPU that I want?
my country is Bolivia (yes, like Bobby Bolivia from Transformer; and NO, there's no diarrea in here lol) but i'm going to buy it in USA.
This image is from deviantart, the owner is Inrage. (thanx inrage!)
There you go. Thanx for the help! -
Its much better then the one from deviantart at 1024X640 134kb file size.
BTW, that screen capture looks to have the mstyles modified zune theme. I have that on my XP desktop.. And will say its by far the best msstyles theme there is for XP.. It has several different color themes.. the one pictured is the orange start button theme. -
I saw it, but ur image has the HP logo
Thanx anyway! -
-
I was bored, so I tried editing out the logo for fun.
What you think?Attached Files:

Nice. I prefer or don't mind the HP Special Edition. It doesn't kill it.

wow... those are really not bad
+rep for uploading them -
Ollirac, thank you for posting those wallpapers
-
Thanks for the wallpapers! Any pictures of the laptop itself?
-
I have some pics up on my flickr page. http://www.flickr.com/photos/24874316@N05/sets/72157604290350228/
The colors are not really acurate in my pictures, but they are close. It's nicer if you see it in person.
The laptop comes in a special artist edition box like how the HDX comes in a different box. The laptop and messenger bag was inside and all the accessories were inside the messenger bag.
The black colors on the laptop are actually dark brown. This includes the bezel of the LCD, the quick play button, the hinges and the keyboard.
The keyboard is actually really nice. It's not too glossy like the dv2700se and it has a small texture to it like the regular HP keyboards.
Right now, I know circuit city has a dv2890nr on their website. Hopefully they will bring to stores soon so you can see it up in person.
The only thing i didn't like was the placement of the stickers. I did remove them all though. -
It doesnt look that bad at all. Has a nice unique look to it if youre into that type of thing. My DV2700t doesnt have a glossy keyboard either.
But I really like that "clay" best buy model someone mentioned earlier. Never seen that model, i also like how the mouse pad is charcoal grey on that model. I just hate the imprint finish, seems girly to me, solid black all the way around would work for me. -
Thanks for all the pics.
-
I love the gold touchpad!
-
Just wondering,
Does anyone have the wallpaper(s) that come with the "Thrive" special edition laptop?
My Friend wants it. -
