    Problem with Toshiba Qosmio
is they have to order it
    can take one month more
but it still make it to christmas.

    Specs:
Processor: Intel Centrino mobile with Pentium M 755 at 2.0 Ghz
    Memory: 512+512 mb = 1024MB DDR

    Price: 2500 euro

    Price is not a matter
the only difference of importance i have found
is that Toshiba dont have numpad and Hp dont have multimedia laptop.

    Help me choose
it be one of this 2

PS! please don't tell me about other alternatives
it will be one of this two so just help me decide of those 2

I'm not a big fan of the Toshiba Qosmio, I think it's overpriced for what you get (it's something like a minimum of $2,499 in the U.S.). Also, the instant boot up isn't quite as instant as you are lead to believe. It boots to a Linux partition and it takes about 26 seconds for that to boot. And then you can't use any Windows features such as recording the video to your laptop so it really is only functional as a TV in that mode.

I like the zd7000 more because it has the numpad, it has been around for a while now so there won't likely be any surprise problems.

    That's my two cents.

on a sidenote, nbrice.ru is the site that stole the zd8000 images from this site without asking, jerks.

ZD7000 or their new ZD8000/X6000 units have XP Media Center installed and should have an option of a TV Tuner as well (might be external though). If you're looking for a multimedia unit, I guess the Toshiba will have an advantage, with the Pentium M CPU and the ability to watch DVD's w/o booting the unit. But just to let you know, I believe you will loose this feature as soon as you manually reload the OS (not using Toshiba's Restore CD's).

Well, I just ordered the ZD7380. It looks like the same system as the 7395 but it runs at 3.2 instead of 3.4. It comes with the following:

    Intel® Pentium® 4 processor 3.2GHz with Hyper-Threading Technology for improved multitasking performance; 800MHz frontside bus and 512KB L2 cache

    DVD+RW/CD-RW drive

    17" WSXGA+ high-definition widescreen display with BrightView technology and 1680 x 1050

    80.0GB hard drive (5400 rpm)

NVIDIA GeForce FX Go 5700 graphics with 128MB DDR dedicated video memory; built-in Harman/Kardon stereo speakers

External personal video recorder (PVR) and TV tuner with USB interface and antenna input; S-video TV-in and TV-out; RCA video input and L/R audio inputs; remote and IR receiver dongle included

5-in-1 media reader supports Secure Digital

    IEEE 1394 port and 4 high-speed USB 2.0 ports

    Built-in 54g high-speed wireless LAN (802.11b/g) with 125HSM/SpeedBooster support; 10/100Base-T Ethernet LAN with RJ-45 connector; 56KB high-speed modem

Weighs 9.5 lbs. and measures just 1.9" thin for easy portability; lithium-ion battery and AC adapter

Windows XP Media Center Edition operating

I bought this at bestbuy.com for 2499.00 US. Which equal about 1915.00 EUR. My thinking was that the Quasimo had had the Centrino processor, which runs at 2.00Ghz compared with P4 3.2 w/HT for the HP. Since I am getting this as a desktop replacement I was not concerned with battery life but that may be something that you are more concerned with in which case I would go for the Quasimo. I enjoy gaming (CS:S, Half-Life2, etc.) so I figured I would get more life with the faster processor. The other selling point was the Brightview screen, which looks amazing. The final difference was that I could get the HP, which I feel is a faster system, for 200.00 US less than the Quasimo. As you can see from the specs, the TV tuner is external and connects with a USB which is not a big deal to me as I will not be using that feature to do much more than download home videos to burn them to DVD (I have a DVR on my cable box for my TV).

Anyway, that was my thought process. The HP should be here tomorrow and I can’t wait. I will give you an update if you are still looking for input.

The Hp processor is NOT faster than Toshiba Qosmios Centrino M.
is just different kind of processor , Centrino processor look like it lower but thats not REAL since 2 different processor is compared.

it maybe Qosmio has even faster processor than HP.
But that be said both Is good laptops.

yes keep me updated on the HP you brought.

Also The Hp 7395 comes with XP home here in spain, not Xp multimedia.

Yeah, I really meant that the P4 w/HT is faster for gaming than the Centrino. I agree that they are both good, it just depends on your needs. The HP should come today so I will let you know.

Well I received the zd7380 on Tuesday. The screen is beautiful and it is nice having the full keypad. It plays the latest games like a champ with the setting up fairly high. It does tend to get hot when playing games but I understand this is normal for a P4. Overall I am very happy with the purchase thus far.
