So I ran the Hp system health scan and it said to defrag my hard drives. Did that to C: but then went to D: (recovery Hp drive) and it said only 10% available to defrag not enough room.
Should this be defraged? I never messed with it at all. It looks very badly defragged in analysis. Any ideas how to free space or defrag the drive?
    Thanks.

No, don't bother defragging your restore partition. Worst case is that it would screw it up royally. Best case scenario is that if it works your system might restore slightly faster should you ever need to do so.

hello.. I bought a Compaq V6000, hard Disk 120Gb, I would like to divide my hard disk or can I say create one partition more...

When I try using my DVD's Recovery system it allowed me just to format all the hard disk and didnt give any option to split.

If I try my other windows XP copy, installing a new copy, at the begging when I try to create a partition with the normal windows XP procedures, it says " no hard disk is in your system

Anyway... how to create or divide my Hard Disk using the Pc Recovery from compaq/

I would appreciate if someone could help me.

you can not use the recovery system to partition your hard drive! you need a 3rd party partition manager.

So... one of the problems with my recovery drive.... when I tried to restore my computer back a couple days it would not restore. Is this related to my very badly fragmented recovery partition?

Check if you can disable an option called SATA NATIVE SUPPORT in the BIOS and retry.
