I just got a zv5000z last thursday and everything works great but now I tried to uninstall a trial program and HpSdpAppCoreApp.msi keeps coming up as missing and I don't know what the hell it is or where to get it. I am not the most PC savy but apparently niether is HP. They told me to do a repair with my apps cd. This did not fix the problem. Anyone else had this problem. I have found it to be somewhat common but nobody has the solution. Any help or comments are greatly appreciated.
    Thanks, Mike.

since you just got your laptop, you can do what most people do when they get a new computer... reinstall your OS. this may sound a little over the top; but i assure you it's great for making sure you start with a clean slate and you don't have any ridiculous applications or other things on your hard drive that the manufacturer put on there.

if you don't know how to reinstall your OS, you can find a friend who is a little computer savvy and it should be a piece of cake. if you feel a little daring, it's not difficult to do it on your own.

    good luck
/reinstalled my OS every time a new semester started in grad school

Thanks for the help but I do already have a ton of programs and files I would rather not reinstall OS unless I have to. I will be soon if this keeps up. Any other ideas?

hmmmm, well, the only thing i could think of other than a fresh install would be to reinstall the trial app you uninstalled using whatever software that was provided by the manufacturer.

you may also see if there is a restore partition on your HD. i know Dell does this with some of their models.

    good luck

    First link from Googling HpSdpAppCoreApp.msi:

Basically, find HpSdpAppCoreApp.msi in the registry and rip it out, or let the Microsoft tool listed in the link above do that for you. Sounds like good advice to me. Google returned a lot of related links.
