    Hi, I just received my customized zv5000. I ordered a P4 3.00Ghz with HT...
I thought that all the computers with this processor had a sticker saying P4 with a "H T"... Mine only has a P4 sticker. I checked in Control Panel/System and it also just say P4 3.00Ghz. Is that normal?
Did they send me a basic P4 or the /HT thing just doesn't appear? Is there any other way to check if I have the Hyper Threading component working?

    Cheers,
    Patox

I'm pretty certain that all P4s made this year have had HT, they probably just changeds their sticker. Read through this tutorial and learn about HT and it has a utility to check your system as well.

you have HT one way for you to see this is to go to device manager and you will see 2 proccesor's listed. Also if you use a program like PCwizard 2004 you can see HT is running.

Assuming HT is enabled in the BIOS. It's often turned off for stability and/or performence reasons. HT is as likely to hurt you as help you.

Doesn't the zv5000t have the ATI chipset? If that is the case, HP can't put a P4HT sticker on the chassis. Intel only allow the use of the P4HT sticker if the machine has an Intel chipset. As DaGreek mentioned, easiest way to check is device manager. If you can see 2 CPU's listed then you have HT.
