    I Accidentally Uninstalled the "Hp Update" Program for my Pavilion Dv2617us. I went on the drivers page for my model but the program is not there. Does anyone know where i can re-install it?

    You don't need it. It's borderline bloatware. Just use Windows Update.

    Yes you do need it. It gave me a bios update.

    It is bloatware, youll live fine without it. If you really want it back, its somewhere in your SWsetup folder.

    Windows Update can give you driver updates but sometimes its not the correct one!

    Theres no need to update to the latest drivers unless your actually having issues with something or neccessarily have too

    Updates is best downloaded from the HP driver page for your exact model.

    i do consider it borderline whatevers but i run it every once in awile and if theres something to DL, i dl and install it.

    I find HP Update really annoying because it pops up like once a day......I rather just go download it from HP's website itself

    u can set it up to never check on its own...or have it not run on startup
