I have seen this computer in local Sam's CLub. I have played with it a little as far as guest mode will take me. I think it has a lot of value for the money. I have put it on the hp.com site and it come's up around $2000 grand depending on what day you do it... Sam's has it for $1498.88.![]()
I have asked about the return policy, the person told me 30 days, and no restocking charges like some other company's have if I don't like it... I have looked up the return policy on the web site. It says 6 monthes on computer. WOW![]()
Do you guys see any disadvantages too this set up. I am just using at home, just want it too last for 3 or 4 years.... Will take me that long too pay off.![]()

well, other than the slower HD and CPU, that's pretty good for the money, but It's possible that one can find the same specs from another company for the same price.
depending on what you will be using it for, I'd say that it's a decent buy.
I think a lot of that price has to do with the accesories that you listed. or are they considered an addtional cost?
All I can say is that it's decent, but not top notch.
If you wait roughly a month or so, Santa Rose is coming out which will release a whole new line of computers as well as proabably discounts on the older tech laptops. -
Every opition on here in already on the computer. Is in box and ready for sale at the store. Yes HD is not top notch, but will be fast for me. I am not that much in a hurry now a days, and the cpu is decent I think for the price of the machine.

very good for 1500

looks like a good deal to me
Very nice specs overall. Processor could be faster, but IMO very few people really need the faster processors. Unless I'm doing serious video editing or something, my processor meter rarely goes above 50% use. With Vista, the 2 GB RAM is much more important than a little extra processor speed. -
Well the store is closed for the night, so I have the night too sleep on it. I am still excited about it. I did a run score check on it when I was there. It came up with a total of 4.7 total score. I did the same on a dv6000 with the same processor but less graphics card but pretty much else was the similar same. and that score was 3.1.... Wow...what a difference in score..My understanding the higher the score the better...Store opens at 10 am, so if I am still excited about it tommorrow..I will go get, have day off too get it set up....If anybody else has any thoughts, please let me know...I am trying too get a feeling on your thoughts....

The only potentially-negative thing about the notebook would be its size/weight, but then only if you're looking for a truly portable device. Depending on your needs/useage, the extra screen size and weight could be either a benefit or a problem.
But, it really sounds like a well-configured system. I say give it a shot. -
It is a excellent laptop for the price -
Looks very similar to the dv9035nr I bought in December from BestBuy for $1350... slightly faster processor and more hard drive space than mine, but I think it's an excellent laptop. As for the hard drive(s), although they are only 5400 RPM, if you balance the two with O/S and data well, I think the "slower" drive problem is somewhat alleviated. Battery life sucks, but then again you're running 2GB RAM, 2 hard drives, 2-core processor, and a big and bright 17" screen... and I love the full size keyboard!
Differences from mine: I have a T5500 (1.66 GHz) and 2x80GB hard drives. HP Spec page is here: HP Pavilion dv9035nr Media Center Notebook PC - Product Specifications
If CPU is an issue, you can "upgrade" to a 2.00 GHz (or even possibly a 2.33, but the 2.33 is around $800!) and that also doubles your L2 cache, but honestly, I haven't seen CPU speed as an issue.... and I can always upgrade to the 2.33 next year when it's down below $400.Be warned, though - this kind of upgrade is not for novices!

Ive got about the same setup except for a faster CPU. thing about faster drives is that i heard they are slightly noisier and run hotter so the 5400rpm drives are ideal.
I am excited about this one
