I plan on following this forum since it looks like there is quite a bit info about the envy line that I am going to need since i just ordered an envy 14 beats edition with the following specs:
    • Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-720QM Quad Core processor (1.6GHz, 6MB L3 Cache) with Turbo Boost up to 2.8 GHz
    • 1GB DDR3 ATI Mobility Radeon(TM) HD 5650 graphics [HDMI] - For Quad Core Processors
    • 8GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm)
    • 640GB 7200RPM Hard Drive with HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection

Also if anyone knows from personal experience, how long does it usually take to receive the notebook from HP? It says about 2 weeks but I wanted to know if anyone got there envy faster .....Thanks guys!

I would assume it gets to you pretty quickly, I know they just got over some supply issues. As my recent purchase took over 2 months to complete. But all signs point to a fast shipment currently.

Welcome! If you haven't yet, definitely check out http://forum.notebookreview.com/hp-...-14-envy-14-beats-owners-lounge-part-iii.html

the owner's lounge, has all the information you could ever want and hope you enjoy the laptop. I liked it enough to buy two ;) (one for the wifey).

Hey, welcome Derek! I have almost the same system as you! (but not beats) :D
As for the shipping, mine took a little under 2 weeks to get built and delivered to me. Awesome computer, must say that I'm rather disappointed with the battery life with the i7-720qm. But that's to be expected as it's a quad

    Thanks to everyone that replied:
Awdotson I will be sure and check the owners lounge
amd ryan, thanks for the info about shipping I might end up buying the slice battery for extra power, but battery life shouldn't be much of a problem for me since I probably will leave it plugged in if i game but thanks again for everything.

Do you guys think it's worth it to buy it now with a $300 coupon? I'm a bit worried that it will get updated really soon :\

Just ordered mine too. Except I scored a refurb one on ebay with Radiance for under 1k :D.

But mine has an older i5-430M processor. Shouldn't be too big a deal though. I figure the speed diff should be pretty negligible compared to the rest of the pre-SB mobile i5 line right?

I don't think HP will be in any hurry to update the envy, seeing as it is their product to compete with macbooks. So is it a good time, I would say yes if you need a laptop.

One major thing I like about this laptop is how easy it is to open up and work on. I had an acer that was impossible to fix up without destroying. So HP was refreshing.
