I have two question will the laptop take 4gb (2x2gb) ddr2 800 memory and will it it use the ddr2 800 or will it clock it down to ddr2 667?
and it should not be a problem to put a 200gb hard drive that has 7200 rpm and is sata 3.0? will it clock it down to sata 1.5? Thank Ivan

The laptop will take 4GB of RAM, and if you purchase the DDR2 800 RAM it will clock down to 667Mhz, and the same with the SATA 3.0 drive, it will clock down to the SATA 1.5.

It will do the same, but I don't know the Bus speeds or whether it is SATA 1.5 or 3.0. Either way the RAM and HDD will work in the new DV5t series. I'm guessing that they moved up the the DDR2-800Mhz speed, but I'm not sure.

is there a difference in the speed (actual not theoretical) of sata 3.0 and 1.5 or is it just a sexier name for now?

The Sata 1.5 has a potential 1.5Gb/s burst transfer rate and the SATA 3.0 has a potential 3.0Gb/s burst transfer rate, so there is quite a difference in speed.

I've used both SATA 1.5 and 3.0 HDDs, and there is a significant increase in performance with the SATA 3.0
