If you haven't got XP running perfectly yet (ie haven't installed all your programs and files), then do a fresh install of XP. When it asks you to create partitions for XP, delete C, then create 2 (or more) different partitions. You can choose the size (in megabytes) and choose which partition you want XP on. This way is much easier than partitioning using software in my opinion.

Partition magic likes to screwup NTFS partitions. The best way is, like marmion already mentionetd, a fresh XP install.
