And boy did I get lucky! I ordered on Friday - the total with tax came to about $1,770. Fully loaded - 1.83 dual core, 2 gigs ram, 100gb hard drive, webcam, brightview screen, lightscribe drive, wirelss / bluetooth and a 12 cell battery. Plus the wife even gave her blessing - heck, if you're spending that much, what's another hundred bucks or so for the extras? Now that was with the $150 Costco instant coupon at checkout.
After my bacon and eggs on Sunday, I checked the website again since HP's known to change their prices. WHOA!!!! Same configuration, about $240 less! Plus Sunday was the last day for the Costco coupon! So I ordered the same rig and came to $1,530 (after tax and coupon). I called Monday and cancelled the original order. It gave a shipping date of April 11. I'm crossing my fingers since I'm off that coming Friday. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!

I did basically the same thing. Ordered Mar. 17th, with the Costco special, but it required accepting Costco's configuration. Well, it wasn't too far off what I would have chosen, anyways.

Sunday, went online (STILL hadn't seen any progress on my Mar. 17th order, no charge to my credit card, still listed as "In Progress") and saw that if I configured my own dv1000t, I actually SAVED $40, PLUS got a nicer system (1.83 duo core instead of 1.66, 12 cell battery instead of the 6 cell, single 1GB ram instead of 2-512).

Placed new order, then canceled my OLD order.

This morning, I found out Costco charged my card for TWO systems! (I actually ordered three times, canceling the first two) They charged my cc for the first two orders, still haven't charged my card for the last order.

I'll get it worked out, just strange... website shows first two orders as canceled, yet they went ahead and billed me for them!

Anyways, I'm also thrilled. I also saw that the $150 instant "Family Discount" is no longer available! Glad I found it on Sunday night!!!

Gotta love a good deal! You may want to call Coscto because I think they only charge your card once the item ships - maybe it's on the way and they can give you a tracking #?

    Thanks Rocky
I did call Costco, and it turns out they only "authorize" charges to my card, they don't actually "charge" the card. They make sure there are funds available, for when they do plan to charge my card.

The problem is, I ordered and canceled a dv1000t (got a better deal the first time, the second time, I decided to add a remote control for $14 from Costco, rather then have to order it from HP and pay $20 plus shipping) and Costco authorized the first two charges! So there was like $3000 authorized on my card, and when Costco went to authorize my 3rd dv1000t order (even though the first 2 had been canceled) the credit card co. wouldn't approve it!

Got it all worked out, though. Really like dealing with Costco, they are totally above board and have treated me totally fairly! The charges were simply a mistake, which Costco has quickly corrected (called my credit card co. and removed first two authorizations)

Thanks! (Can't wait to get my dvkt... I ordered it first on March 17, now, because of the better deal, I'm back to waiting a couple of more weeks)

I also did order twice from hp.com. however, wen i called HP to cancel my order they told me that it cannot be canceled. But what I can do is reject the package, which I did. And they credit back to my creditcard.
dunno if i'm correct, but I think costco probably has to same policy.
