I just got a new dv9700t.
The configuration I done was close to $2000 but I used a 30% off coupon and I end up paying $1400!
Here is my configuration:

- 4GB DDR2 System Memory (2 Dimm)

- High Capacity 8 Cell Lithium Ion Battery

What you guys think?
I believe that for $1400 that's an awesome deal.
Also I have a question regarding shipping.
I order it on May 19th and estimated shiping is May 30th, I know that HP use to ship way before of the given estimated day, I need it by June 4 because that day I had to make a trip.
What are the chances to have it by then?

that's an awesome deal! congrats! and you could save some more by buying and upgrading your own ram. I think you will have the laptop by then, when I ordered it I got it like 3 days before the actual ESD.

Looks very good but why HP offers weak graphics solutions is beyond me. And as said above RAM on your own can be cheaper. A 17 with a GS just does not cut it with me. Sorry.
-
Plus the GPU itself is not everything which does the job.(I mean for your everyday use not games) but its the VGA RAM who plays major role and the GeForce 8600M GS has 512MB which is more than enough to do mostly everything in Vista. -
nah...it's not... i have one of them and i also have a gateway. and i must say...the gateway blows my hp away. and the gateway was 1249.99
-
I have a friend with a dv9700t with 2.4 Processor, 2GB or RAM and the nvidia with 256MB memory. He is doing everyday Photoshop and video editing with no problem at all and he is able to work very smoothly.
The one I got is a step farther with the new 2.5 T9300, I got it with 4GB and the 512MB nvidia.
As I said I am not talking about games.
If there is something else you mean, can you please be more specific?
By the way, my notebook was shipped today! -
run cinebench r10
it will test your video rendering
and when i did it with both lappy's the gateway blew it away in getting the job done allot sooner.
i use photoshop and illustrator cs3 version with all the plugin's and the hp holds it own, but the gateway does it quicker (x9000/t9300/t5450)
in no way am i hating on the the hp! but your hp has only 16 shaders and that will slow you down no matter what cpu you put in them..... -
Don't you hate it when people sh*t on your parade?
System looks good. I will echo the comments about the RAM though. RAM upgrades are way overpriced at the OEMs. 4GB at dealram.com is going for $75. -
nice deal congrats
-
nMIK-3 thats an Awesome deal...as u can see from my sig i will be ordering the dv6700tse laptop like tomorrow, and the total is like $1840 w/ tax. I basically will be getting the same specs as yours minus 256MB from the Graphics Card and 15.4" screen...so my question now is where the heck did u get that coupon?
-
Is good to have discussion though.
This is the second time I found an amazing coupon deal, just before Christmas I was able to find a 40% off coupon for DV9500 and I save my friend almost $800.
Search for a coupon before you order. Good luck -
Hey guys, I got the laptop two days ago.
I like to report the performance here, I was expected it to be fast but to be honest, i didn't expected it to be that good!
Most of Windows Vista Expirience score is above 5.1 with overall performance set to 4.8!!
Really impressive and really fast.
Also I have one question regarding Bluetooth.
How you turn Bluetooth off in DV9700??
HP wireless assistant is present but it only display the status ex. On-Off and gives you no option to turn it off. Neither native Bluetooth settings from Vista's control panel. Any ideas?Attached Files:
