You should be able to use and charge it at the same time. Charging is done when the indicator light that looks like a lightning bolt turns off.

The Intel one is actually much better (graphics and processor). And this is coming from a guy who never had an Intel powered computer.

AMD is quieter and has 64 bit compability. The performace diff are not alot u are comapring the 2 dv8000's performances. the one that comes with the amd COMES with a weaker graphics card thats why.

well i live in israel so here we get the "dv8371ea" thats the model, it comes inbox preconfigured straight from hp in usa i guess...hmmm
    specs :
    1.8Ghz intel duo, 160GB hd (80gb X 2 ), 1GB ram, 7600 GO and so on...

i just pluged the battery 2 the laptop and used the ac while the laptop is turned off, the lightning shaped light turned on the sec i plugged it 2 the wall
and i went 2 sleep....the about 10 hours later i woke up and the lightning light was no longer on...does that mean the battey is fully charged? its the very 1st time i charged the battery...doesnt it work like on a cell phone battery? if u take it out 2 soon the battery gets a little scrued up a and wont last as long?

    and btw
    no keyboard errors so far

i also reinstalled windows with no problems

so far im REALLY loving this piece of machine!

Yup, no lightning symbol means it's charged. 10 hours should be much more than enough time to charge. It should take only 3-6 hours, if I recall correctly. Don't worry about over charging, it automatically stops when it is full.

If you know how to, the processor can be upgraded to Merom Core 2 Duo (64 bit). Also, 64 bit is not a requirement for Vista.

i ordered it like a week ago and got it 2 days ago and not from hp.com
i ordered it from a store here in israel, but that store prolly ordered it from hp in the u.s
and like i sayd in my previouse post
i reinstalled windows on it and had no problems at all (i used the guide posted in this forum by "MDesigner")

and about the keyboard i type pretty fast and so far i got no keyboard issues
    NONE.
it feels good and i love the numpad.

i hope it will remain like that...
