    I have a Compaq Presario F500 and the thing won't start up

    When I press the power button, it lights up for about 1 second, during which the power light, hard drive and disk drive lights will light up,do only one bip and then it will promptly switch itself off again.Please help me!Thanks a lot

    1) Take out the battery pack and unplug the AC Power

    2) Hold the power button for 30 seconds or more

    3) Only plug in the AC power this time and try starting up again

    Try it again, hold it for 60-90 seconds this time though.

    After that, reseat the RAM and hard drive. Make sure you are booting with no other external devices attached.

    Thanks a lot but i have not understand the right procedure.I must remove ram hard drive battery and ac power then i hold it for 60-90 seconds. then i must put hard drive and ram and ac power and try?

    Nope, the first thing you want to do is take the battery out, unplug the AC power and hold the Power button down for 60-90 seconds. THEN if that dosn't work, take out the Ramchips, then put them back in (if you have two try putting just one back in to see if you can get it to boot, if that dosn't work take that chip out and put the other one back in). After you do the ram, take the hard drive out, and then put it back.

    make sure your ram is installed correctly and is good.

    I have 2 bank of ram and with this ram it don't work.I have not another bank.
