So i went down to FedEx, and i picked up my hp dv6000t. The specs are in my sig. I have had absolutely no problems with it yet. I wanted to know how I can check for any problems, and how I can make it more fast and efficient.
    I love my lappy!

    Thanks.

    -MATT

    finally heh,

congratulations, you'll be happy with your decision. I think I'd start off by downloading Firefox 2, Ccleaner, Notebook hardware Control, and Rivatuner for the Go. (if your interested in OC'ing). Don't forget to get the latest Microsoft updates as well as the new bios for the c2d.

    Enjoy. ;)

If you want to test the capabilities of your notebook, you should download:

Super Pi (makes your CPU calculate pi to a certain amount of digits - the standard dv6000t superpi score for 2 million digits of pi is around 1:03)

3DMark05 (intensive 3D-capability testing for 2005-level applications; you should get around a 3500, I believe)

3DMark06 (intensive 3D-capability testing for 2006-level applications; you should get around a 1500)

CPU-Z or Everest (displays basic computer information)

RMClock (displays computer throttling controls while on battery/voltage options)

If you use AIM I would suggest using only version 5.9 with the AIM-Ad Hack and Viewpointkiller. Google the latter two, they stop the messenger from downloading ads and spyware. Also I highly recommend CCleaner it's an excellent program, and keeps my 6000t running like new.

You might like to try out maxthon instead of firefox?

Firefox is good, but I just like Maxthon more.

Hey! Glad to hear you finally got it. You had almost as many setbacks as Ulysses in his Odyssey! :D
