but now i have some question about this type.
(1)i know the laptop support two HDD,but now my hard drive occupy one spot, whether i can upgrade my HDD to the second one in China?i had seen someone posted the topic said that----: "Hard drive - if you didn't aks for two, you will have problems adding a second drive because there will be no place for it."
Oops,is it really sure?I have no chance to upgrade my secondary HD in future???
(2)my internal memory is DDR 512M,whether can i upgrade my internal memory to 1G in future in China?

(3)i heard that this type got so much bloatware running on it that it impossibe for the laptop to exert its best performance? How can i solve this problem?whether can i format system disk for stalling the operation system again?

I need your help ,thank you very much.!!!!

    1. Its not a matter of not being able to find a place to put it in, it is difficult to upgrade the hard drive later is due to the fact that HP uses a adaptor which they do not sell individually, but they bundle it with the hard drive. If you buy the drive from HP, then upgrading should not be a problem.

    2. The dv8000T uses DDR 2 memory and it can be upgraded pretty easily.

    3. Well, you can just go through Add/Remove programs list and remove any unwanted software. This should speed up your system without going through a full reformat.

because i am in China, where the dv8000t are not for sales.
It is very difficult for me to upgrade my configuration .you said that "it is difficult to upgrade the hard drive later is due to the fact that HP uses a adaptor which they do not sell individually".
i have several question if my HDD is broken, whether it is difficult for me to fix?can i get a new HDD to replace the broken one in China ?whether is the HDD of dv8000t produced by hp only ,you cant buy the same HDD in market?

I dont own the dv8000 yet, but I am looking to buy one of those in the future.

Other than the adaptor for the hard drive, you shouldnt have any problems upgrading the RAM and the hard drive.

The hard drive is a standard 2.5" notebook SATA hard drive. It is NOT propreitary and you can buy it from any place which sells hard drives. I dont know whether hard drives are easy to get in China, but I assume it would be available since the dv8000 is assembled in China itself.

HP in the US do not sell the adaptor individually, but you could try asking them whether they are willing to sell you an extra one.

I would say get the configuration with the 2 smallest (cheapest) drives. Tht way, you will have the connector there, and can install a larger drive later.

    :)

my brother is living in America,He will come back in recent month ,so i require him to take the DV8000t to me.because the dv8000t isn't available in China,so i suspect that if the laptop is broken, whether the machine can be repaired in China?
what dose the adaptor mean?the purpose of the adaptor is to bundle it with HDD?
if the adaptor isn't available in China, then if my adaptor is broken, oops,i will cry loudly!
