My screen every once and a while would go haywire when turning on the computer. It would take a couple of tries to turn on the comp to get it to work. Now all of a sudden the problem got worse and its not coming on at all... GG..

On hold with HP right now, we'll see how this turns out..

My friend had the same problem, then he recovered the system to the original settings, and the problem went away, but after then when you close the laptop it goes to hibernate regime, which you cant turn on after that. Only take out a battery or so - very strange behavior.

Its perfect when its on. Before it only happened once or twice and a quick force power off worked. But Im not sure if its a software problem or even if its the screen or GPU. When it happened before, the recovery screen did pop up so I cant tell. I reinstalled drivers a few times and it didnt help.

HP however is taking care of it apparently. Sending a box for me to return it by 1 day shipping. No cost.

I got the box today and will probably send it in tomorrow but I think I figured how to replicate the problem at will.

Any slight bumps or shakes will cause it. I noticed it after putting it in my backpack, turning it off and walking to my next class and turning it back on. However, if I leave the laptop on nothing is wrong.

I just threw the laptop on my couch a few times and the screen went crazy again when trying to turn on. Its friggin weird and not what I want from a $1000 laptop when my girlfriend's $400 Asus can be roughed around and it runs fine.

Edit. Im also thinking it might not be the screen itself but the hard drive since its a mechanical one. After the screen goes crazy and I am able to boot in, it always asks me if I wanna check the disk.
