After all the hassle i'm going through and the wait just to get my notebook I would not recommend anyone have to do this. I called numerous times and each time they say that it is delayed at customs but they are sending the necessary paper work. Well shouldn't that have been done in the first place? I asked for a discount but they just ignore me and say let me check the status.

Basically I'm saying if you want an HP computer buy it at a brick and mortar store cause their international shipping SUCKS!

You might try calling their resolutions line at 8882278451, puts you straight through to a manager.

Yeah! You might think about calling them back and complaining about how many times you were given the runaround...when my computer got stuck in customs hell they gave me back $50 for the trouble (on a $1000 envy 14 - if its a mini or something 30 might be their limit or something)

Perhaps the thread title should now be changed to "I sort of recommend HP." ;)

remember that customs clearance is beyond the control of any shipper.

But it is in their control to not frakk up the paperwork, and afaik HP has done that to quite a few shipments, lately.

It was a $989 dm4t (I used the $300 coupon and $150 instantly) or $1049 with taxes. So basically I just got $30 dollars off my taxes.

They told me that they didn't send the necessary paper work but that it should be alright now. And that was on Friday night.

So, what you're really saying is that you don't recommend HP to anyone in an area where it has to go through customs. ;-)

I am glad they decided to offer you something for your inconvienience. Enjoy your product one it gets to you!

I DO recommend HP. It's been tough, but they finally sorted it out, upgraded shipping, and gave me a $50 credit. That's enough in my eyes.

None you guys have no idea who messed up the paper work. the whole staff at us customs in anchorage could have quit. Or FedEx/FlyingTiger could have messed up. Whatever.

I'm not boosting HP here. I'm challenging assumptions made with no factual basis.
