    Hi all,
I have a Compaq Evo N1020V which has a Samsung 193T LCD monitor attached to it. 9 out of 10 times when windows XP Pro loads on my laptop, the Laptop forces its own screen to be the primary monitor and thus making the LCD just blank out. I would like my Samsung LCD to be the primary display. Can anyone suggest a fix?

    thanks heaps

Not sure,...this is just a guess. You could maybe go into device manager. (Right click on My Computer. Select Properties. Click onto the Hardware tab. Click onto the Device Manager button.) Then go down to monitors. Click onto the + sign. If you see two monitors listed, right click onto the one you do not want starting up. Then select disable. (I am not sure this is what you were looking for. So I hope this helps.

dependign on your graphics card you should be able to configure all of your monitor needs in desktop>properties>settings. my ati card works everything out perfectly and i can choose every option imaginable. i dont have any experience with notebooks that have nvedia or any other brand card so thats about all the info that i can provide.
