    I need to reset and restore windows, but my new laptop did not com with a recovery cd?

    I just bought this laptop 3 months ago and it did not come with a recovery cd. I remember someone told me that the new laptops now a days dont need it. Can someone tell how its done? Its an Hp entertainment laptop turion x2 2.4 ghz, 250 gig hard drive, 2 gig ram.

    There should be a partition on the hard drive which you can use to recover the laptop as long as you havent deleted it or altered the mbr. This process can usually be started when the laptop boots(usually an F11 key but this can vary). Alternatively, HP includes a program on the system which allows you to burn a recovery disc. Burn the disc and then use it to restore the system. BTW, if you havent done this I suggest you do so before trying to restore the system. Otherwise you would have to call HP and order restore DVD's for a price.

    Not the system restore but to put the whole thing back to factory settings. Do you know how to do it in the start up screen?

    I believe you press f11 on startup.

    Yeah, thats what I meant in the previous post....putting the system back to factory state. As far as what key to press it should be F11 (for most HP's).

    go to start on the bottom type in recovery manager than click advance option and choose system recovery and ur comp should restart and load the system recovery process
