    I have a presario 1700... its pentium3 1 ghz 768mb ram 40 gig hdd... any suggestions??? i'm passing it to my bro...

    What are you trying to ask, are you looking for a unit that is comparable to your old specs? We're gonna need more info on what your needs and price ranges are, otherwise people will be suggesting everything under the sun.

    Also, checkout the below link. It's a post in the Hardware forum that has a bunch of "what I need" questions that need to be answered so people can make proper suggestions.
