This is the graphics card I ordered:
    • 1GB GDDR5 Radeon(TM) HD 6750M Graphics [HDMI, VGA]

I asked an HP representative and they told me if I don't intentionally switch my card to the HD 6750, it will be using the Intel HD 3000 instead.
    Is that true?
Someone please confirm this for me.

    Thank you!!

No, the "internal" graphic is on the "APU" called 6620G.

If you read the graphic card confusion thread http://forum.notebookreview.com/hp-pavilion-notebooks/634581-hp-dv6-graphics-card-confusion-clear-up.html on this same forum, you can see most/some/afew sales have no more clue than you on the technical aspect.

check the dv6z owner lounge thread for how people doing with it.
There is alot of reading but at the end you can find someone to blame.

You don't have to intentionally switch either. Your laptop will switch automatically if it needs to (e.g. when running a game) but that can be flaky sometimes.
