    hi all

b4 i bought the dv8000t i saw the dvd with lightscribe and i was kinda skeptical about the quality the lightscribe will produce.
    but i bought it anyway...
when the laptop finally arrived i got 1 free cd for testing.
i used it and i was quite amazed
the detail level is very very nice
im going 2 the store now 2 buy a 50 pack of dvds and start burning some pics on them :)

i took a pic of the cd i made...the light is kinda bad but u can get the idea

    in conclusion :
    LIGHTSCRIBE ROCKS! \m/

let me know what u think :)

p.s. anyone knows if the pic on the cd will fade out overtime? and if so how much time?

    10x

well it depends on the picture u wanna burn

this specific pic took 27 minz 2 do

but as u can see its very detailed

if u'll take a "simpler" pic or just put text it will be much faster...

27 minz for this result dont look 2 bad 2 me :)

I use lightscribe alot, and it is pretty slow, usually between 15-25 minutes.

Thing is, you can slip it in the drive, begin burning your image/lable, then either continue working, or simply walk away... It's not like I'm usually in an enormous hurry to take the dvd out of the drive, and if I am, I can always burn the lable at a later time.

It's a very nice, useful feature!

By the way, check out www.lightscribe.com for lots of templates and images to use when using lightscribe!

The discs you need to use it are much more expensive than the regular ones so I doubt I'd use it much.

    u need these programs :

    1. the lightscribe drivers, can be found here :

    http://www.lightscribe.com/support/index.aspx?id=307

    "LIGHTSCRIBE SYSTEM SOFTWARE UPDATE"

    d\l it

    2. i guess u wanna use ur own pics and not stuff that they provide so in order to do that u will need 2 d\l "SURETHING 4SE" it also can be found in the link above

then u use the surething program 2 insert the photo u want...u position it and add text and all that, then u go to File ---> Print

the burning process is done through the print option.

u can preview b4 burning the cd 2 check how it will come out.

thats it i think....let me know if it worked for u.

I also used Verbatim, same thing, no porblems at all, and cheap then others. Get the 30-pack one.
