hi all
b4 i bought the dv8000t i saw the dvd with lightscribe and i was kinda skeptical about the quality the lightscribe will produce.
but i bought it anyway...
when the laptop finally arrived i got 1 free cd for testing.
i used it and i was quite amazed
the detail level is very very nice
im going 2 the store now 2 buy a 50 pack of dvds and start burning some pics on them![]()
i took a pic of the cd i made...the light is kinda bad but u can get the idea
in conclusion :
LIGHTSCRIBE ROCKS! \m/
let me know what u think![]()
p.s. anyone knows if the pic on the cd will fade out overtime? and if so how much time?
10x

Yeah, I love lightscribe. Its way better then the usual marker. SIGH.

many complain that the process is very slow. how long did it take you to lightscribe that disc?
-
well it depends on the picture u wanna burn
this specific pic took 27 minz 2 do
but as u can see its very detailed
if u'll take a "simpler" pic or just put text it will be much faster...
27 minz for this result dont look 2 bad 2 me -
Thing is, you can slip it in the drive, begin burning your image/lable, then either continue working, or simply walk away... It's not like I'm usually in an enormous hurry to take the dvd out of the drive, and if I am, I can always burn the lable at a later time.
It's a very nice, useful feature!
By the way, check out www.lightscribe.com for lots of templates and images to use when using lightscribe! -
The discs you need to use it are much more expensive than the regular ones so I doubt I'd use it much.
-
thats not true....(in israel at least where i live ) 50 pack of lightscribe dvd discs cost the same as the next brand
its not more expensive for me at least...

lol Luar
2 pts for u
OPETH RULEZ!
and again about the price of the cds...its wierd...here in israel its the same price as any other good quality brand cds...
maybe if i would buy single ones it would be more expensive
but i always buy 50 pack of dvds and the price is regular -
what program do you use to create the label? I reinstalled windows and have not tried it yet. What 3rd party progam is needed?
Scott -
u need these programs :
1. the lightscribe drivers, can be found here :
http://www.lightscribe.com/support/index.aspx?id=307
"LIGHTSCRIBE SYSTEM SOFTWARE UPDATE"
d\l it
2. i guess u wanna use ur own pics and not stuff that they provide so in order to do that u will need 2 d\l "SURETHING 4SE" it also can be found in the link above
then u use the surething program 2 insert the photo u want...u position it and add text and all that, then u go to File ---> Print
the burning process is done through the print option.
u can preview b4 burning the cd 2 check how it will come out.
thats it i think....let me know if it worked for u. -
any specific brand for a lightscribe CD/DVD? i saw verbatim and hp brands out there, i dont know which one to buy?!?

i go with verbatim

I also used Verbatim, same thing, no porblems at all, and cheap then others. Get the 30-pack one.
