I didn't see any threads with my searches but before the S1 socket came out it looked like the consensus on Sempron minimal voltage was 1.075v. I'm using the latest RMclock and I've got 0.875v @ 800MHz and 1.100v @ 1800MHz. Is anybody else doing what I'm doing? Is that normal or did I find out something sort of new?

Also, looking at RMclock's "General Page" it states Startup, Minimal, Maximal voltages and for my minimal it says 0.550v. When the heck is my Sempron using 0.550v as a minimum? I would love to use that....I did but the lappy immediately crashed.

I'd like to drop the maximal voltage down lower than 1.100v but it seems to crash. Does anybody else have any similar experiences?

Are you stable after torture-testing with Prime95 at that voltage?

Those voltages are pretty good for a Sempron since usually(not always) they are chips which dont make te cut to be a Turion/Athlon64. They are perfectly fine Semprons so they are re-packaged and sold as such. As for as the lowest voltage, those are the theoretical lowest possible voltages. Practically most processors will not reach it.

Thx for commenting. I'm happy to get feedback. I've tested with Prim95 and all is stable with these settings. I've been using it like this for about 2 weeks. For 4x 800mhz i can't go any lower than 0.875 but i would love to be able to :) When i look at RMClock's General page it says that my Minimal is 0.550v....wouldn't that mean that I could get that low...or does the system get that low only for specific reason and for short amounts of time? I'm not satisfied with the 800mhz and 1800mhz VID's :) I mean for the Max setting the original is 1.200v while I could only effectively get it down to 1.075 but I'm staying at 1.100v to be safe.

What notebook do you have? As far as i remember, HP's Semprons (socket 754) had locked minmal voltage settings, while Acer for example did not.
Other than that, great values. Do you experience longer battery life and/or less heat at the lowest multiplier?

You cannot reach 0.550 v, Miner explained that.

He/She is talking about S1 Sempron 3400+ with 256KB cache. Those are really good voltage.

    powerup93,
How often is your fan start spining after undervolting with DVD play?

Hmmmm, i cant comment about fan useage while watching DVD's cuz i havent done so yet. I will give it a shot asap. I've only used my laptop on my lap or on my bed while at lowest freq. and the fans comes on maybe every 30mins.....i end up covering the vents alot though. When i do use the lappy on lowest freq and on a desk its usually too loud to hear the fan. I really think its stays pretty quiet though. According the RMclocks temp it says the core is usually at 51degC @800mhz on a desk and i've noticed the fan doesn't come on until it hits 55-57degC.

I'm really trying to get the laptop to be cooler and get any bit more battery lfie out of it. I haven't done any testing before undervolting and after. I can't compare. With the brightness set at 3-4 ticks from brightness and @800mhz i can get a little over 6hours battery life...i have a 12cell btw. I think with lighter usage it can hit 7hours or less.

What S1 Sempron 3400+ model HP, sub model are you talking about???

    nx6325 RB526UT#ABA ?
    http://www.notebookforums.com/thread176205.html

Running Prime95, Heavyload, etc at the stock voltage (don't have machine on to check voltages, etc ) I get a MAX cpu temp of 52-53

WeAreNotAlone, I believe that is the same sempron. My model is Keene. And from reading RMclock I get ~61C when at max cpu speed. I CTO at Compusa the V3000Z Sempron 1.8MHz 3400+ 256mbL2cache.

I just thought that there were more people out there that would undervolt their S1 Sempron's and share some thoughts. I'd really like to tweak it more along the lines of undervolting/underclocking/overclocking etc. it turns out to be really fun.

Would you also share your test score of its performance? 61C is the typical temp when you undervolt. Mine is 59C for ML-37.
0.875V~1.075V maybe the lowest you can go. It would be vary from chip to chip. Usually AMD and Intel lock their lowest VID. You probably cann't do much on 4x side.
The main benefit of undervolting is cool down your machine and not BBQ your lap like other brands.
I would think of undervolting 6150 if any tool is available.

Yeah, I would like to undervolt the 6150GPU but so far I didn't find any tool to do so.

What benchmarking or performance testing program should I use? SuperPI?
