Well, I successfully burned the 1st and 2nd DVD+R recovery disc.
On the 3rd disc, the 1st and 2nd steps is successful (creating the file and writing the file). BUT when it was on the 3rd step ( Verifying the file) something happened.

I needed to transfer the laptop to another location so I had to UNPLUG it knowing that it's 100% charged. And this pop-up appeared that in order to continue you must plug it, and so I did. But then when I returned again to where I left, I thought I'm going to start again (b'coz it says insert blank DVD-R/+R...) to the 1st step of burning the 3rd disc (Creating the file) and so I putted the blank DVD+R WITHOUT KNOWING that it's the continuation of the 3rd disc I'm working on! >_<, I was waiting for it to spit the disc and ask for the original 3rd disc, but it didn't. After a few seconds, it says that i burned that recovery discs successfully. But I doubt it.

I just dunno if I'm almost done with my 3rd disc that time before I unplug it. o_o??

What d'you guys think? And I couldn't find a way to re-burn my recovery disc again now... Is there a way like to test it if it's really "successful"? B'coz it's bugging me now.

1: you can make a new partition.
2: install another hard drive and test it that way as well.

    this insures that it worked

how? i don't have the vista installer b'coz it came pre-installed when i purchased this laptop. and i don't want to lose all my files if it means reformatting my HD. :(

    -EDIT:
and is Recovery Disc "that" important anyway? what does it do?
is it necessary for me to burn it, if I have already downloaded the drivers from their website?

Is there a possibility that my 3rd disc is corrupt b'coz it didn't finish "verifying the disc"?
Or it won't do any harm even if it didn't finish verifying it (afterall, it says that the burning of recovery disc is successful)... o_o??

well... you can get a copy from a friend or download an *ACTIVATION COPY*
from a legitimate source. then burn it to dvd. make sure you have your *ACTIVATION KEY* from your pre-installed version of your software.

home made recovery disc are for when you crash your computer and you want to restore it with all the goodies you installed. minus the bloat ware or factory install.

technically... since the drivers are online, you really only need to have the network card drivers, your activation key and an operating system disc. (worse case scenario)

personally, i would advise you to obtain a valid copy of your operating system. you never know when you might need to fix your computer..... and most of us don't do full system restores. we just fix it and move on, but without that disc...makes things a little more difficult.

I really hope that it will work...

So you mean, the actual OS(Vista) is not included in the Recovery Disc?
Ok, I'll look for a copy of the OS installer.

And one more thing, how will i know if my OS is registered?
Is the "Activation Copy" and "Activation Key" you're talking about is the Vista DVD and the Product Key??

I just bought my HP notebook 1 week ago and I'm new to HP stuffs, I don't even know that it didn't came with CDs/drivers and that I need to make "my own recovery disk".
Well, I've already downloaded all the drivers for my Pavilion dv2715nr from this page.

Thanks johnksss for attending to my questions. :)

Thanks, I'll try it when I got home.
    (I just hope it's not a 'self-destructing' method...)
