i hope this hasnt been done to death,
but i was hoping to get some help in this area, preferably how to install, and how to get the most of the SSD drive, thanks

Intel is a pretty reliable brand for SSD's. If you want to shoot more toward performance while still remaining on good reliability, I'd go for OCZ.
I haven't done this myself, still saving up for a good sized ssd. -

now all i would have to do is reformat and make the SSD the primary drive, where the OS file go? to take full advantage of the increased Read/Write speeds?
therefore increasing my startup time etc? -
Yes, putting the OS on the SSD will speed your boot time.
