So my dv6t:se came today, and it's certainly nice so far. However, the trackpad is unbearable. There is no dead zone on the buttons, so you can't just lay your finger on a button and not have it freak out and move the cursor (or decide to get confused and simply not move the cursor).
If I uninstall the driver, would this fix anything? I've exhausted the settings for it and can't find anything to change to fix this.

my only suggestion would be to lower the pressure sensitivity some if that's an option.

Don't people tap to click?

You should be able to turn the touchpad on/off at will. There should be a button on the new version of the DV6 to do that. -
I have a dv5t, so I don't know if your dv6t settings will be identical --- but they should be similar, and the instructions below will give you the general idea of what can be customized in the touchpad and mouse. I'm giving you ALL of the possible customizations (and refer to what I chose for my system), but of course you'll choose the ones you need. Hope this helps: (Your sensitivity issues are at the bottom of the list, in bold.)

Another thing you could do is google synaptics hacked drivers and see if installing those gets to work a bit better.
