Hey guys,
I wanted to get a keyboard cover my envy 14, but I don't quite know where to get one.
I see a lot of keyboard covers for macbooks, and I was wondering if one of those would fit on my Envy.
For starters a simple keyboard cover would be okay, but it would be nice if I could get some more unique covers like a Dvorak one.
Thanks for everything.

There used to be covers for the 14 on eBay.

are you referring to these?

or letter stickers for the keys? -
Yeah, I was referring to those, thanks a bunch.

these covers are quite nice I have one for my hp g62. Only thing I dont like is sometime when I close the lid and travel with it in my backpack it will move a little but its no biggie. You can see it in my avatar.

I've used both the silicone and TPU (thermoplastic) keyboard covers in the past on prior computers with varied results. Depending on the resistance of the specific keyboard, a TPU solution might provide too much "resistance" and thereby affect the ease of key travel. However, silicone doesn't "breathe" as well as TPU and can affect the ventilation designed into most keyboards (they're supposed to allow a certain degree of air flow). Then again, the TPU is more transparent (allowing for better key visibility) and silicone is more opaque and much harder to keep clean. Silicone covers will also add tack (stickiness) to the feel of your keyboard which you'll either love or hate; TPU retains some of the slippery feel of plastic keys. Both, however, will keep dust and other crap from getting under the keys and will prevent wearing your keys (especially the "g" and "h" keys) shiny.
That said, I just ordered this one for myself for my Envy 14:

Bummer, though, if it's true... -
The small strips of double sided tape to attache the TPU protector to the keyboard are a little difficult to work with. The backing is too easy to remove on one side and the other one would rather splice the paper it's attached to, taking the shiny side with it, than come off properly. They tape also has a tendency to fold onto itself - like all double sided tape, it seems.
The net effect of the clear TPU is near-transparency, sort of similar to the effect of an anti-glare screen protector. An unintended (?) side effect of this is that it helps to minimize "bleeding" from the keyboard backlight (which only bleeds at oblique (wide) angles).
As advertised, it dampens (softens) the sound of the keyboard, but doesn't impede typing at all.
About the only thing about the protector that I don't like is aesthetics; the supposed cutout for the touch pad is too small for trackpad by about 20%. It doesn't make it dysfunctional, however, because a cutout almost isn't necessary at all. So it just looks funny is all.
I guess I'll keep it. It's better than the silicone keyboard covers I have tried in the past; they had way too much tack (stickiness) for my tastes. -

I've had the clear TPU one for a while from eBay
. Anyone try the color ones? Mines getting a bit worn out.

Just got mine in. It feels pretty nice. I tried doing typing tests on it and it's not that bad. My old silicone one for a netbook I had kept sliding off and it got dirty really quick. This one looks a lot clearer and it fits the keyboard pretty well. I am pleased.
I wanted to buy a keyboard cover for my Envy, any advice?
