I cannot entertain the idea shopping at HP Canada because of the lack of customization and its overpriced and outdated preconfigs. It just seems like HP Canada is a dumping ground for old stock and EOL'd models from the USA.

    oh well..

Don't buy the HP, then. Unless you want to game, I would recommend a Lenovo.

fine i won't then!! way to sell computers in Canada HP.

i did consider Lenovo earlier but again their Canadian division is just as guilty as HP's for what i said in the OP, maybe even worse.

Well, HP generally has one of the best commercial designs on the market. Asus looks too bland after seeing an HP notebook.

Not with the new M series of notebooks from Asus. Check Asus M50 and M70.

Asus actually has nice configs for an ok price but hard to find up here, that and they're a little bland :(

YennoX is right, it even won awards. but in the same way that's the point of the thread, HP can fulfill appeal on looks and options, just not here :(

The HP DV9500t cto is awesome for Gaming, Media and whatever software you might use. I own one and it's very fast and nice looking....it does need a cooling pad though (only con I've noticed) :)

Those M series notebooks are probably some of the worst attempt at imitating the HP imprint design. Asus's large webcam on the lid is horrendous from a design perspective.

I'm in Canada and i sure like the 8510-p i bought 6 months ago , never looked at the commercial line though , I think the business lines are so much better , both dell and hp , and it was less than $1500.00 , with 3 year warranty

Lenovo is good about offering well configured systems at retailers. Check out CDW.
